Meet Our Testers — Winnie & Roo
Meet the Chief Testers
Every Little Paws and Claws toy is tested in our Cheshire home by two very fussy critics: Winnie and Roo. If they ignore it, it doesn't ship. If they fight over it, it gets a re-stock priority.
Winnie
Breed: Grey domestic shorthair (the silver streak of the operation)
Personality: The thinker. Will stare at a toy for ten minutes before deciding whether it's worthy of a single dignified paw-tap.
Favourite toy: The Cat Feather Wand. Specifically the way it twitches if you flick it just right.
Speciality test: Wand toys and anything with feathers. If Winnie's not playing with it after 48 hours, the design goes back to the drawing board.
Roo
Breed: Brown tabby (kangaroo-energy in cat form)
Personality: The chaos agent. If it can be batted across a kitchen floor at speed, Roo will find a way.
Favourite toy: The rainbow S-shape tunnel. He doesn't just play in it. He LIVES in it.
Speciality test: Tunnels, mice, and anything that can survive being launched off the sofa. Roo is the durability tester.
How they test
Every new product goes through a 14-day home trial:
- Days 1-3: Novelty test. Does either cat actually approach it?
- Days 4-7: Engagement test. Sustained interest, or two-day flop?
- Days 8-14: Durability test. Faux fur intact? Feathers attached? Suction holding?
If a toy passes all three phases, it gets listed. If it fails any, it doesn't. That's why our range is small — fewer toys, but every one is genuinely cat-approved.
Why this matters
Most cat-toy brands you'll find online dropship from generic warehouses and never see the toys land in a home. We're a UK family business based in Cheshire, with two real cats doing real testing. When you buy from Little Paws and Claws, you're buying a toy that's already passed the most honest review process there is: two indoor cats deciding whether it's worth their time.
